Manchester City v Club Brugge betting tips: Hosts too hot for Belgians
Published:Man City v Brugge betting tips and odds
Manchester City are nicely positioned in second place in Group A and victory on Wednesday would give them a four-point cushion over the visitors with two games remaining.
City, 7/2 favourites to win the Champions League, thrashed the Belgians 5-1 in Bruges and are understandably 1/9 to pick up another three points at the Etihad Stadium.
Pep Guardiola will be determined to see his side bounce back from Saturday’s home defeat by Crystal Palace, so we’re taking a look at some of the other markets in our Man City v Brugge betting tips, while we also have an in-depth preview for Liverpool v Atletico Madrid.
Match Odds
City took a while to get going at the Jan Breydel Stadium but the floodgates soon opened once Joao Cancelo broke the deadlock after half an hour.
In front of a home crowd, City may take the lead earlier as we go 9/4 on the hosts to be leading after 15 minutes or it’s 20/23 for them to be ahead in the 30th, the same price as City winning both halves.
City have the second highest number of clean sheets in the Premier League but they have yet to keep one in Europe, so we make a home win to nil 8/13, while a home victory and both teams to score is 19/10.
🗣 @PepTeam has called for City to remain positive and refocus on Wednesday’s #UCL clash against Club Brugge following defeat to Crystal Palace.

The Belgian champions are going well domestically, but they won’t face a team of City’s class in the top flight and we go evens on the home team winning and over 3.5 match goals or 2/1 on five or more.
In the handicap market, the Premier League champions are 2/1 to win by at least four goals, while they are 13/4 to win by exactly three in our Man City v Brugge betting tips.
Riyad Mahrez scored twice a fortnight ago and is 17/2 to score in both halves as he did in Belgium or 4/1 to find the net and supply an assist.
Talking Tactics
Phil Foden, Jack Grealish and Mahrez led the attack in the usual fluid 4-3-3 formation against Brugge with Rodri the central midfielder flanked by Bernardo Silva and Kevin de Bruyne, but Guardiola may decide to make changes following Saturday’s shock defeat.

Club Brugge head coach Philippe Clement opted for two banks of four against City and Hans Vanaken played behind main striker Charles De Ketelaere, although Bas Dost was the focal point in attack during Saturday’s 2-1 win at St Truiden and his two goals mean he could be given the nod on Wednesday.
Goalscorer Odds
As ever, it’s always worth checking the starting line-ups an hour before kick-off when getting involved in the goalscorer markets, but Mahrez is currently 7/2 to break the deadlock and 19/20 to score.
Ilkay Gundogan played no part in the 2-0 defeat by the Eagles and is 7/2 and 21/20 in the two markets, while Cancelo is 14/1 to open the scoring again and 4/1 to find the net.
Kyle Walker is 9/1 to score in back-to-back games against the Belgians and fellow defender Aymeric Laporte is 11/2 in our Man City v Brugge betting tips.
Dost is 14/1 to get the ball rolling and 4/1 to find the net, but Vanaken has scored in all three Champions League games and is an interesting option at 6/1.
