Burnley v Norwich betting tips and odds

The top two in the Premier League meet on Sunday afternoon as Liverpool host Manchester City but a day earlier the two teams at the foot of the table clash at Turf Moor.

Both teams have the perfect opportunity to pick up their first wins of the season, although for Norwich they have the chance to bag their first point of the campaign.

The Clarets are 17/20 favourites to win on Saturday but let’s look at what else is available in our Burnley v Norwich betting tips.

Match Odds

Both teams were dealt a poor hand by the fixture compilers which may explain why they have just two points between them after six games.

Sean Dyche’s Burnley earned a point from a 2-2 draw at Leicester last weekend although they thought Chris Wood’s header had earned them a dramatic stoppage-time winner, only for the offside flag to be raised.

Burnley’s performances suggest they should be higher in the table, but the Canaries are exactly where they should be, having the lowest expected goals total in attack and the highest in defence.

City have scored just twice this season and are yet to find the net on the road, so we go 11/5 on the hosts to win to nil, but as they have yet to keep a clean sheet this season they can be backed at 13/5 to win and concede.

Despite not winning a match this season, the Lancastrians have taken the lead in four of their six matches and are 5/4 to score the opening goal in the first half, while the optimists among you may be drawn towards the visitors winning from behind at 20/1 bearing in mind how many points Burnley have lost from winning positions.

In our #GetAPrice specials, under 1.5 goals in the first half, two or fewer in the second and either team to win would have paid out in half of the Clarets’ games and is available at 6/4 as one of our Burnley v Norwich betting tips

Talking Tactics

Dyche will stick with his preferred 4-4-2 but he could be without both Maxwel Cornet and Matej Vydra for Saturday’s clash.

Cornet limped off with a hamstring injury soon after scoring a superb volley against Leicester and Vydra went off with a back complaint, so with Jay Rodriguez missing the game at the King Power Stadium with a hamstring injury, Ashley Barnes could come into the reckoning.

Norwich boss Daniel Farke could be without Todd Cantwell, Christoph Zimmermann and Przemysław Placheta again, but Milot Rahsica may start having come off the bench in the 2-0 defeat by Everton.

Goalscorer Odds

Chris Wood dominates the first goalscorer market at 14/5 and is 21/20 to find the net, while Barnes is 9/2 and 9/5 in the two markets.

Centre-backs Ben Mee and James Tarkowski are 17/2 and 10/1 to get on the scoresheet in our Burnley v Norwich betting tips.

As ever, Teemu Pukki seems to represent Norwich’s best hope of a goal at 5/1 and 15/8, while the returning Josh Sargent is 13/2 and 13/5.
