Phwoar what a weekend we had! Did Liverpool really just lose a match?!

As we all take a breather, we’ve put together a snapshot of the biggest stories from a rip-roaring weekend and begin to figure out what it all means…

Watford end Liverpool’s unbeaten run

Watford handed Liverpool their first loss of the PremierLeague season on Saturday night. The Hornets were a huge 150/1 to win 3-0before the game but stunned the Reds and ended any ‘invincible’ chat.

Two goals from Ismaela Sarr and one from captain Troy Deeneywas enough to produce the shock of the season and keep Watford in with a realshout of survival.

Liverpool are still a massive 22 points clear of second place Manchester City and are as short as 1/500 to claim the Premier League title.

The aftermath of the defeat means Arsenal’s 2003-04 unbeatentitle-winning season remains  – everycloud has a silver lining Gooners!

Man City retain Carabao Cup

Manchester City defeated Aston Villa 2-1 to bag their thirdstraight Carabao Cup title. Goals from Sergio Aguero and Rodri were enough todown the Villans despite Mbwana Samatta’s consolation.

City were cruising after midfielder Rodri headed in theirsecond on 30 minutes. But were made to work for their victory in the secondhalf with Claudio Bravo making an expert save to deny Bjorn Engels late on.

Phil Foden’s fine performance on the right wing saw him bag Manof the Match and again show why he deserves more game time in the PremierLeague.

Moving forward, attention returns to league matters for Villawho are battling to avoid relegation. The Citizens are back in cup action asthey visit Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup in midweek.

Real Madrid take El Clasico bragging rights

Real Madrid beat arch-rivals Barcelona 2-0 at the Bernabeuon Sunday night to go back to the top of La Liga.

Whilst the visitors edged the possession, they only musterednine shots on target to Real’s 13 with Los Blancos goals coming fromVinicius Jr and Mariano.

It leaves Real a point clear of Barca with 12 games to go. Ourtraders have Zinedine Zidane’s men at 8/13 to lift the trophy with Barcelonaare at 6/5 to retain the title.

Can Real bag their first La Liga title in three years?

England reach Women’s T20 World Cup semi finals

England secured their spot in the T20 World Cup last four aftera 46-run win over West Indies on Sunday.

Natalie Sciver once again starred with the bat, making 57from 56 balls as England ran up 143-5 from their 20 overs.

They are joined in Thursday’s semis by South Africa, Indiaand Australia – Who will be the hero in Sydney?

Heather Watson wins Mexican Open

While the tennis world were still digesting the news ofMaria Sharapova’s retirement, Heather Watson ended her four-year title drought atthe Mexican Open.

The 27-year-old fought past former US Open winner CocoVandeweghe in her run to the final before seeing off Canada’s Leyla AnnieFernandez 6-4, 6-7, 6-1 to claim victory.

After what she described as a losing a ‘heartbreaking’second set, she bounced back with a vengeance to bag her fourth singles title.

This victory will see her return to the top 50 for the firsttime in nearly four years – she’ll have one eye on a strong run in the GrandSlams now.
