Leicester v Liverpool tips: Can the Reds stay top of the league?

Sadio Mane - Liverpool

Leicester and Liverpool kick things off in the Premier League this weekend, with both teams making a fine start to the season.

Liverpool will be hoping to continue their winning start to the season, whilst Leicester have won their last two after their opening day defeat to Manchester United.

We’ve got all your odds and tips ahead of the big game…

Match odds

Liverpool edged both games last season, as their attacking brand of football continued to draw many admirers.

They beat The Foxes 2-3 at the King Power Stadium in a real ding-dong battle.

Jurgen Klopp’s men are 2/5 to make it four wins from four. Leicester have only lost twice at home in the league since December 2017 and sit at 13/2 for victory.

A draw is 18/5.

Talking Tactics

Both Klopp and Leicester boss Claude Puel have very distinctive styles of play.

We’ll likely see the high-press in full flow from the visitors with the holy trinity of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino hounding the Foxes back four.

We can expect Klopp to start the same team that beat Brighton.

Leicester have some decisions to make down their right-hand side. New signing Ricardo Pereira has been deployed at full-back and right midfield this season.

Puel could opt for Daniel Amartey at right back, or if he elects for Marc Albrighton or Rachid Ghezzal then Pereira will revert to defence.

Jamie Vardy is going to be the big miss, serving the last of his three-match ban he picked up against Wolves.

He could be replaced by former Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho in attack.

Goalscorer odds

Jamie Vardy loves a goal against the Reds, but with the recently retired England man out others will have to step up.

Iheanacho is the obvious candidate to come in and he’s 3/1 to score first for Leicester.

James Maddison has been in fine form for his new club and is 16/5 to notch Anytime.

Liverpool’s front three have already notched five goals between them. Three have come from Mane and it’s 11/5 for the Kop’s new number 10 to score and Liverpool to win.

Mohamed Salah has grabbed two goals in three games and is 3/4 to bag Anytime.
