Premier League betting tips: Chelsea and Arsenal to boost European hopes?

Published:

It’s the business end of the Premier League season and with five games remaining its still all to play for in the race for the top four and battle to beat the drop.

We’ll find out more about those squabbles with three huge games on the way tonight.

It all starts with a relegation scrap between Watford and Norwich as Nigel Pearson’s side aim to pull away from the drop zone with three points against bottom side Norwich.

Chelsea make the short trip across London to Crystal Palace and have their eyes firmly set on a top four spot. The Blues have the chance to leapfrog Leicester into third if the Foxes fail to beat Arsenal, who still have European hopes of their own.

You can watch all of tonight’s Premier League matches live on Sky Sports from 18:00.

Watford v Norwich (Tue, 18:00)

It’s a must win for both teams in the fight to avoid relegation. It goes without saying that this is a real ‘six pointer’ at Vicarage Road.

Watford kick-off as 8/11 favourites despite having lost their last three matches. Norwich (19/5) are seven points from safety at the bottom of the table and are running out of time to find results, but the Canaries could close the gap to just four points if they pull off a shock result.

The scenario could make for an entertaining game but scoring goals has been both sides’ problem this season. A draw is 13/5 with under 2.5 goals 4/5.

Norwich have failed to score in any of their last five games, picking up zero points in the process. Watford to win to nil is 7/4.

Troy Deeney is a real leader for Watford and if you fancy a captain’s performance, he is 5/4 to score anytime. Danny Welbeck is 4/1 to score first for the Hornets.

For Norwich, Teemu Pukki is their main goal threat and the Finnish striker is 9/5 to find the net anytime with Todd Cantwell 16/5 on the same market.

Crystal Palace v Chelsea (Tue, 18:00)

Palace have lost three on the bounce and they face a tough task against a Chelsea side who have managed to score over 1.5 goals in each of their last six games.

Roy Hodgson’s men are 7/1 underdogs and sit comfortably in midtable, Chelsea on the other hand have it all to play for as Frank Lampard aims to secure a top four spot and come into the game as 2/5 favourites.

The Blues beat Palace 2-0 earlier in the season at Stamford Bridge and the same result tonight is priced at 5/1.

Tammy Abraham scored the opener on that occasion and he’s 3/1 to repeat the feat. Christian Pulisic has been in good form post-lockdown and the American is 7/5 to score anytime with Willian (2/1) on the same market having scored three goals in his last two games.

Palace have fired blanks in their last three matches after resuming the season with an impressive 2-0 win at Bournemouth. Jordan Ayew is their top scorer and he is 14/5 to score in the match. Both teams to score is 21/20.

Arsenal v Leicester (Tue, 20:15)

Arsenal have made a timely return to form to retain hope of European qualification next season, while Leicester also got back to winning ways for the first time since the Premier League resumed against Crystal Palace.

The Gunners have won their last three, keeping three clean sheets in the process. Mikel Arteta’s side are 13/10 favourites with a draw priced at 12/5.

Leicester have beaten Arsenal on the last two occasions, and they are 2/1 to secure all three points at the Emirates Stadium and move a step closer to Champions League football for next season.

The top two Premier League scorers this season go head-to-head and it is Jamie Vardy who currently leads the race for the Golden Boot with 21 goals. Vardy scored a brace at the weekend and  is 5/4 to score anytime and 13/2 to score two or more.

For the Gunners, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is Evens to score anytime with Alexandre Lacazette 9/2 to break the deadlock. Both teams to score is 3/5.
