Tottenham v Mura betting tips and odds

Tottenham must try to banish the memory of Sunday’s humiliating north London derby defeat when they host Slovenian champions Mura in the Europa Conference League on Thursday night.

Nuno Espirito Santo admitted he got his tactics badly wrong in the 3-1 loss at Arsenal and he cannot afford to make too many more mistakes after three successive Premier League games resulted in them dropping into the bottom half of the table.

Spurs are just 1/10 to win this Group G encounter so let’s look at the options in our Tottenham v Mura betting tips.

Match Odds

Tottenham began the campaign with a 2-2 draw at Rennes where Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg poked home the equaliser 15 minutes from time, but Mura slumped to a 2-0 home defeat by Vitesse who also struck the crossbar.

Mura won the Slovenian title for the first time last season but they are fifth in the current campaign following four wins and four draws in their first 11 games.

The hosts are 1/2 to be ahead at half-time and full-time, the same price as a win to nil, although we go evens on one team to win without conceding and under 3.5 goals, so that would cover a 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 win for the north Londoners.

A win by at least three goals is available at 19/20, whereas winning both halves can be backed at 10/11 in our Tottenham v Mura betting tips.

Harry Kane is just 2/5 to score on Thursday but can be backed at 4/5 to outscore Spurs’ opponents, while Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura are available at 21/20 and 15/8 in the same markets.

Spurs are 17/4, 9/2 and 6/1 to win 2-0, 3-0 or 4-0 respectively and 12/5 to be leading after 15 minutes as they were at Rennes.

Talking Tactics

Nuno is unlikely to deploy a long-ball game as he did at the Emirates which left his midfield totally exposed in a horrible first half, so they are set to play a more possession-based game on Thursday.

The former Wolves boss picked a strong team in France and is expected to go with his preferred 4-3-3 system with Kane supported by Son and either Lucas Moura or Bryan Gil, although midfield places are up for grabs.

Mura are likely to go with a 4-2-3-1 but they will need to tighten up at the back having looked susceptible at set-pieces against Vitesse.

Goalscorer Odds

Kane is the 9/5 favourite to get the ball rolling and we go 23/10 and 7/2 respectively on Son and Moura bagging the opener.

It’s worth checking the line-ups an hour before kick-off before getting involved in these markets, but Gil impressed when he came on as a sub against Arsenal and the Spanish winger is 5/1 to break the deadlock or 17/10 to score in our Tottenham v Mura betting tips.

Mura looked woeful at corners in their group opener so wait until the teams are announced to see who is playing at centre-back for Spurs.

Eric Dier, Cristian Romero and Davinson Sanchez are 7/1, 5/1 and 9/1 to score against Mura, whose best hopes seems to be their joint top scorers Amadej Marosa and Kai Cipot who are 4/1 and 11/2 to find the net.
