League One betting tips and odds

It was all change at the top of League One during the week as Rotherham took advantage of Plymouth’s defeat to take over at the summit thanks to a 2-0 win at Ipswich.

Six of the top seven are all in action against each other on Saturday and we are covering all three games in our League One betting tips.

The Millers are evens to extend their unbeaten run to 13 games by winning at Oxford, who can be backed at 13/5.

Oxford v Rotherham

Rotherham may be the favourites to win this weekend, but they are up against a team with one of the best home records in the division (W7 D2 L1).

All but one of the Us’ last six games have involved goals at both ends, so we go 6/4 on both teams to score, over 2.5 goals and either team to win which would have paid out in four of Oxford’s previous five games at the Kassam Stadium.

Rotherham, though, are on a roll and their last four wins have come by at least two-goal margins which is available at 13/5, while the visitors to win and concede is 11/4.

Millers striker Michael Smith is the division’s second top scorer with 12 goals and can be backed at 6/4 to find the net, while Ben Wiles is 17/2 to break the deadlock for the third successive game.

Plymouth v Wigan

The Pilgrims were knocked off top spot following a 3-0 home defeat by Wycombe but Saturday’s game has been overshadowed by Wigan striker Charlie Wyke, who was admitted to hospital having collapsed during a training session in the build-up to Tuesday’s 2-2 draw at Cambridge.

Latics are the 7/5 favourites to win the game and having scored at least twice in seven successive away games they can also be backed at 23/20 to net two goals or more at Home Park.

Plymouth lost their last two games against Charlton and Wycombe without scoring, so we go 10/3 on Wigan winning to nil as one of our League One betting tips.

It could be a close game on Saturday, so a draw and goals at both ends has its merits at 3/1, while a goal in both halves and a share of the spoils is 9/2.

Sheff Wed v Wycombe

The last of our League One betting tips takes place at Hillsborough where seventh-placed Sheffield Wednesday hope to extend their unbeaten run to 10 games by defeating Wycombe.

The Owls are 5/4 favourites to make it three successive wins or 10/3 to win and concede, while the visitors can be backed at 21/10 having used the long ball to good effect in their 3-0 win at then leaders Plymouth during the week.

Goals have been scored at both ends in Wednesday’s last three matches which is priced at 8/11, but those odds rise to 5/4 in the both teams to score and over 2.5 goals market.

The hosts have drawn five of their last eight, all of which produced goals at both ends, and that option is available at 16/5.
