Man United next manager odds: Mauricio Pochettino now the favourite
Published:
Mauricio Pochettino is now the favourite to take over from Erik ten Hag next season as manager of Manchester Unired, according to the latest odds from Ladbrokes.
After a disappointing end to the season, The Guardian reported that Ten Hag is set to be sacked following the FA Cup final, but some have questioned whether that will happen now after United shockingly beat Man City 2-1 to win the competition.
INEOS are said to have wanted to give the former Ajax manager more time in the job, but now even though they won the FA Cup, Ten Hag's job will reportedly be under review.

Mauricio Pochettino now longer the favourite for Man United job
Ladbrokes had Pochettino as the man most likely to replace him before the final, with the Argentinian previously as short as 7/5 to be in the Old Trafford dugout next season. The ex-Spurs boss was surprisingly let go by Chelsea at the end of the season, despite it seeming like things were really beginning to click at Stamford Bridge.
However, Pochettino was overtaken running towards the end of May, with another ex-Chelsea boss in the form of Thomas Tuchel the front-runner for a period, with the German previously at 6/4.
Despite that, the tables have turned once again and Ladbrokes has installed Pochettino as the favourite to become Man United's next manager, with odds of 7/4. Tuchel is second-favourite, after being displaced as number one, now with odds of 7/2.
Another interesting name in the mix is England manager Gareth Southgate (10/1), who many feel could leave this job after Euro 2024. England are the favourites for this summer’s tournament, and Southgate could find himself in one of the biggest managerial positions in the world just a few weeks after wrapping things up with the Three Lions.
He's priced just behind former Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi, who at the time of writing, is as short as 4/1 for the Red Devils job.
The joint-fifth favourite is former Man United coach Kieran McKenna, but INEOS may struggle to get the deal done considering Ipswich signed the talented coach to a brand new contract last week ahead of their first season back in the Premier League.

Man United next manager odds
Below are the 10 men in the running to take over from Ten Hag and become United’s next manager, staring the favourite Pochettino (7/4), and finishing off with Middlesbrough's Michael Carrick (33/1), a multi-time Premier League winner with the Red Devils in his own right.

- Roberto De Zerbo - 4/1 (Free Agent)
- Gareth Southgate -10/1 (England)

- Michael Carrick - 33/1 (Middlesbrough)
It’s worth noting that nothing has been confirmed by the club, but the feeling is Ten Hag won't be staying as Man United season for next season.
If United do get a new coach, he'll be hoping to improve on their odds to win the Premier League next season, with the club currently fifth-favourites at 25/1, behind Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City and Chelsea.
While Man United may have a new manager next season, we know that Liverpool definitely will, with Ladbrokes recently looking at how incoming boss Arne Slot will line-up his starting XI for the Reds next season.
