Ahead of an exciting round of fixtures in the All Ireland Senior Championship, the Marc Ó Sé blog is back with the Ladbrokes ambassador giving his accumulator for the weekend’s games.

Laois v Offaly O Moore Park Laois 7pm Saturday

Offaly will not be too pleased with their National League campaign having finished 3rd last which was a disappointing finish when you think of the underage talent that is coming through in the county. Now they travel into the lion’s den against a Laois team who will take huge confidence having won a national title at Croke Park against Leitrim. Scoring three goals in the final was a huge statement of intent and I believe momentum can be something you can use to your advantage. However, look at what happened to Westmeath after they won the Division 3 Final, and Mayo after they won the Division 1 final last year…they both went on and lost the first round of the Championship. We begin to see a pattern. I will go with an away win for Offaly.

Down v Antrim Newry 6pm Saturday

Down will be disappointed not to have won the Division 3 title but will also be happy in that it was a successful National Football League having won promotion to Division 2. Antrim won three of their seven matches in Division 3 but lost four times. If the Down players can perform the way we know they can, I can’t see there being an upset in this game and I am backing them for the win.

Kildare v Wicklow O Moore Park 1:45 Sunday

What a victory Wicklow had last weekend against the much-fancied Westmeath. Nobody gave Oisin McConville’s men any chance and now they take on a Kildare team that have been poor and there is no doubt but that Oisin McConville will be looking to go all the way in Leinster now. But that said league is league and Championship is entirely different and Glen Ryan’s men have now had time to reflect on a dismal campaign. If they can improve their defensive set up and move the ball through the lines quicker, where you could better serve the excellent Daniel Flynn, you have to give Kildare a right chance. This is a really hard game to call but with experienced players in the Kildare side I am just going to back them.

Dublin v Meath 4:30 Croke Park Sunday

Colm O’Rourke faces his old enemies at Croke Park this Sunday. I think Colm will be disappointed to have conceded three goals against Longford last weekend. It’s been a poor league in my view by Meath. That said they have some quality players in Donal Keoghan, Eoghan Frayne, Matthew Costello, and Jack O’Connor. The Dubs are just on another level. Colm O’Rourke said he thinks there will be a big improvement in the Meath team that will take to the pitch. I certainly hope so but I can’t see anything other than a big win for the Dubs here.

Marc Ó Sé weekend accumulator – 3.6/1

  1. Offaly to beat Laois –
  2. Down to beat Antrim
  3. Kildare to beat Wicklow
  4. Louth to beat Wexford
  5. Dublin to beat Meath
  6. Armagh to beat Fermanagh
