One Direction Betting Odds

Simon Cowell has already labelled One Direction as the “most exciting pop band in the country today”, but whether that means that they are good enough to win the X Factor or not remains to be seen.

The group have been supported into 11/4 to win the X Factor and they almost certainly represent Cowell’s best hope of mentoring this year’s victors.

Cowell has not missed an opportunity to talk up the credentials of the boy band, who have done exceedingly well to gel together in such a short space of time.

One Direction was only assembled at bootcamp after it was decided by the judges that the boys were all talented singers, but not quite good enough to progress to the judge’s house section of the TV show in the boys category.

Instead, they made it through in the groups category and impressed Simon with their take on the Natalie Imbruglia hit ‘Torn’.

They have since performed hits by Coldplay and Kelly Clarkson with little difficulty and their credentials as a pop band will be put to the test when Cowell decides the time is right to hand them their first ballad.

A group is still to win the X Factor, but there are many positives in One Direction’s favour that suggest that this will soon change.

First, they are mentored by Cowell, who will be looking to end the dominance in the competition of Cheryl Cole, who has tutored the last two show winners.

Furthermore, with the show largely watched by teenage female viewers, their boyish good looks are sure to be enough on their own to reel in the votes.

One Direction are 1/50 to be the X Factor’s top group and the only competition in this category is Belle Amie, who had to be saved by the judges recently.
