Sherwood favourite for QPR post, but is this the right job for him?
Published:It’s been a strange few months for Queens Park Rangers. Earlier in the season, supporters were dreaming of a potential return to the Premier League, after their side were in the play-off places after their opening five games.
But it’s all gone wrong since then over in west London, with the club managing just two wins from their last 11 games.
And it’s that terrible points return which has left QPR just six points away from the relegation zone, leaving the board with no option but to part ways with manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
And of course, that can only mean one thing: who’s next in line for hotseat?
Tim Sherwood – 4/6
The former Aston Villa boss has been out of a job for just over a year. But if the latest odds are anything to go by, he may well be heading to Loftus Road very soon.
But how would fans feel about that appointment?
It’s not a bad point that Chris raises here. The 47-year-old has managed just 56 games in the last three years – and the Championship would be a completely new test for him…
Tim Sherwood ticks all the right boxes for QPR.
Championship experience? ❌
Lasted one full season at any club? ❌

Meanwhile, @warrendell talks as if he’s seen this all before…
Let’s just get Tim Sherwood in. Sooner it’s done, sooner we can hound him out, he gets sacked and we never have to talk about it again. #QPR

Karl Robinson – 5/2
Next in the market is former Milton Keynes Dons boss Karl Robinson. Unlike Sherwood, the 36-year-old does have some experience of the Championship, having led the Dons to the second tier of English football back in the 2014-14 campaign, only to see his side relegated last season.
He left his previous club just over two weeks ago, so QPR could provide an immediate step back into managing for Robinson.
But would that step be one in the right direction for the Hoops? Here’s what Twitter is saying…
Taking MK Dons to their highest ever position in the EFL suggests Mark’s statement is perhaps a slight exaggeration…
Why is Karl Robinson one of the favourites for the QPR job? One of the most overrated managers going

Too many cooks spoil the broth, Jamie!
I think we should hire Karl Robinson & Tim Sherwood & maybe 1 or 2 other managers aswell.

It’s good to know he’d have your backing, Joshua…
Hmm Karl Robinson, now that’s a guy I would give a chance and get behind #Qpr

Nigel Pearson – 12/1
If you’re looking for someone with Championship experience, then Pearson is your man.
Granted, he didn’t have the best of times at Derby County, and was subsequently sacked after just 11 league games. But the man who led Leicester City to the Championship title and steered them clear of Premier League relegation the following campaign may be just what this QPR side needs.
But what do fans think of this potential appointment?
Evans is next in the market at 16/1, if you were wondering @PerennialPundit…
I think, either Steve Evans or Nigel Pearson could do a job at #QPR. The latter is a strongman who might shake up dressing room

Hasan isn’t convinced, though…
But please, not Nigel Pearson #QPR

But it looks like the chants have already started!
@TonyIncenzo What’s that coming over the hill??!! It’s Nigel Pearson, IT’S NIGEL PEARSON!!!

Hasselbaink’s dismissal has come at a good time for his successor, with an international break taking place between now and November 19.
The earlier the board can get a new man in, the more time he’ll have with his squad before they welcome Norwich City to Loftus Road.
