Sweden v Canada betting tips and odds
Sweden have won all five games at the Olympics and are 20/23 favourites to win the gold-medal match against Canada in the early hours of Friday morning.
The Scandinavians defeated Australia 1-0 in the semi-finals, while Canada won by the same scoreline against world champions United States courtesy of a penalty 15 minutes from time.

Match Odds
Sweden, the silver-medal winners in Rio, started the tournament with a stunning 3-0 victory against United States in the group stage and they have looked the team to beat ever since despite being second favourites until the four-time Olympic champions were eliminated in the semi-finals.
The Swedes, third in two of the last three World Cups, have won four of their matches by at least two goals and they are 5/2 to win by that outcome, while they are 9/4 to win by a single goal as they did against Australia.
Three of their victories came without conceding and they can be backed at 8/5 to win to nil for a fourth time and it’s 4/1 on a second successive 1-0 triumph just like their last meeting in the last 16 of the 2019 World Cup.

Canada, bronze-medal winners in 2012 and 2016, were second best against USA who had 60% possession and won the shot count 13-3, but edged through via a VAR-awarded spot-kick, converted by Chelsea’s Jessie Fleming.
The Canadians have drawn three of their games which can be backed at 21/10 and they are 15/4 to win inside 90 minutes or 9/5 to take gold, but they have a tough task on their hands against a strong Swedish side that have taken the lead in all five games and are 8/13 to make it a sixth.
Peter Gerhardsson’s side were also ahead inside 30 minutes in all three group games and they are 13/5 to be in front at the half-hour mark, while a win and under 3.5 goals is 6/5.
Talking Tactics
Gerhardsson deployed his usual 4-5-1 against Australia with Stina Blackstenius leading the line and Fridolina Rolfo playing on the left.
Canadian counterpart Bev Priestman, former assistant coach under Phil Neville with the England team, has preferred a 4-3-1-2 throughout the tournament in which Nichelle Prince and Janine Beckie operate as the strikers.
Goalscorer Odds
Blackstenius is Sweden’s top scorer with four and she bagged the winning goal against Canada two years ago so it’s no surprise to see she is the 7/2 favourite to break the deadlock and 13/8 to find the net any time.
Rolfo has netted three goals – all against Australia – and is 6/1 to draw first blood or 11/4 to score any time, while Lina Hurtig is 5/1 and 23/10 in the equivalent markets.
Canada have hardly been prolific at the Olympics where Janine Beckie is their top scorer with two goals and the Manchester City striker is 8/1 to get the game’s opening goal and 7/2 to breach Sweden’s defence, but captain Christine Sinclair is the 7/1 and 16/5 favourite for the underdogs.
