Thomas breaks records but US Open is wide open on final day

We’re set for an unmissable final day of the 117th US Open, with a host of names in the frame for victory.
Brian Harman leads the way on 12-under and is 9/2 to stay there, but the star of the show yesterday was Justin Thomas.
The 24-year-old flew round Erin Hills in a sensational nine-under 63, recording the lowest score in relation to par in the US Open’s entire history.
It also thrust Thomas right into contention, and he’ll go into the final day just one shot off the lead – but as the market favourite a 7/2.
Brooks Koepka sits alongside Thomas in second. The American has barely put a foot wrong all weekend, and is 19/5 second-favourite to prevail.
Koepka’s 67, 70, 68 has been matched by Englishman Tommy Fleetwood. The 26-year-old is the outside of the leading four at 15/2, as each looks to claim their first Major.
So too does Rickie Fowler, the first round leader. A 73 on Friday threatened to ruin his chances, but a 68 yesterday means the 28-year-old is only two shots off the pace and is 9/2 for victory.
Fowler sits alone in fifth on 10-under, with South Korea’s Si Woo Kim holding a lonesome sixth on nine-under.
At 16/1 however, our traders don’t much fancy the 21-year-old to overhaul the leaders.
The odds suggest this is a five-horse race, but if the conditions remain as they did yesterday (perfect) then we could yet see a big move for lower down the order.
