World Grand Prix darts: Anderson backed for easy progress

Published:

It’s day three in Dublin as the World Grand Prix moves into the second round of action with Phil Taylor, Adrian Lewis, James Wade and Gary Anderson all in action.

Oliver Yew is ready and waiting to take you through three of his best bets of the night at the Citywest Hotel, which combined make an interesting 5/1 treble at Ladbrokes.

Read on to find out why you don’t want to miss out!

Gary Anderson to beat Mikey Mansell 3-0 @ 5/4

‘The Flying Scotsman’ silenced the home crowd after his first round win over Brendan Dolan and can do so once again when he faces Northern Irishman Mikey Mansell.

The ‘Clonoe Cyclone’ put in an excellent performance to knock out world number 16 Ian White but at times looked nervous at the oche.

He should have no answer for Gary Anderson, who has beat Mansell twice in two matches, as the Scotsman looks to improve upon his quarter-final showing at this tournament last year.

James Wade to beat Robert Thornton @ 4/9

‘The Machine’ faces a tough test in the second round against Scotsman Robert Thornton but with his form good and his record at the World Grand Prix excellent, we are backing the Englishman for victory.

The two-time winner of the Dublin event has come out on top nine times in 14 clashes with ‘The Thorn’ and can extend that record on his way to the third round.

Phil Taylor to beat Andrew Gilding 3-0 @ 8/11

It wouldn’t be a night at the World Grand Prix without mentioning the name Phil Taylor.

‘The Power’ has lifted the trophy 11-times and, once again, looks the one to beat in Dublin.

That task has fallen to Andrew Gilding in the second round and while ‘Goldfinger’ beat Taylor back in February, we are backing the 54-year-old to prevail with the minimum of effort.
