World Grand Prix Tips: Anderson, Barney and van Gerwen in action

The World Grand Prix moves into the second round this evening, with eight of the remaining 16 players facing off at the Citywest Hotel in Dublin.
Rob Cross is one man who won’t be among the contingent. The world champion was knocked out by Steve Beaton last night.
Who will be following him home tonight? We’ve tipped up all four matches below.
Dave Chisnall v Raymond van Barneveld (7:15pm)
There’s not much to separate these two PDC stalwarts based on their respective first round encounters. Both averaged in the low 90s, while their checkout percentages were near identical.
That makes tonight’s match-up an intriguing one. Chisnall is 6/5 to prevail, with Barneveld the favourite at 4/6.
Whatever the result, we’re expecting an impressive array of scoring. Chizzy and Barney are both capable of hitting big numbers, and Over 8.5 180s is priced at even-money.
Gary Anderson v Jeffrey de Zwaan (8:15pm)
If 180s are your thing, then this match-up should deliver. De Zwaan and Anderson chalked up six maximums combined in the first round, and are renowned on the circuit as big power scorers.
An extra set should bring the best out of them again tonight. We go even-money about there being Over 8.5 180s in the match, with the in-form Dutchman 7/5 to edge the count.
Daryl Gurney v Ron Meulenkamp (9:15pm)
Defending champion Gurney wasn’t made to work particularly hard by John Henderson in the first round. He’s the heavy 2/5 favourite to make short shrift of Meulenkamp here.
The Dutchman doesn’t have the necessary checkout percentage to mount a genuine challenge based on his opening round performance. Gurney rates better than his opponent in all key areas.
Michael van Gerwen v Darren Webster (10:15pm)
MVG didn’t give Steve Lennon a sniff on Sunday night. The Northern Irishman failed to manage even a single dart at double such was van Gerwen’s first round dominance.
Webster will fear a similar annihilation tonight. His head-to-head record against the Dutchman makes for dire reading. The Norfolk-born thrower has lost 15 of his 16 matches against the world number one.
There’s not much appeal in van Gerwen outright at 1/8, so a 3-0 win at 11/10 and his King of the Oche odds at 5/4 could be the way to go.
