Competitive cycling comes in two main forms: tour and track racing. At Ladbrokes, you’ll find the most competitive odds on both disciplines. So whether you want to hit the roads and conquer the mountains or fly around the velodrome, we’ve got you covered.
Usually held over several weeks, tour racing features multiple stages across a country, while track cycling events are mostly shorter sprints around the steep banks of a velodrome arena. The Grand Tour races, comprised of the Tour de France, the Vuelta a Espana and the Giro d’Italia, are the focus of the cycling tour calendar, while the pinnacle of track cycling is the Olympic Games, as well as the Track Cycling World Championships.
Following Egan Bernal’s victory in the Giro d’Italia in May and Tadej Pogacar’s Tour de France win in July, next up we’ve got the Olympics before we head to Spain for the Vuelta a Espana in August. Think you can pick the outright winners, stage victors or jersey wearers? Whatever you want to bet on, you can get the latest cycling odds with Ladbrokes.
Betting on Tokyo Olympic Cycling
We can’t wait for the 2020 Olympic Games to get underway on Friday 23rd July. We’ve got loads of road and track cycling to look forward to, with a stack of gold medals across both disciplines up for grabs. The 2018 Tour de France winner Geraint Thomas is set to be part of Team GB’s road riders, along with another Tour veteran Simon Yates and twin brother Adan, as well as 2020 Giro winner Tao Geoghegan Hart.
And there’s plenty of action on the velodrome track, where Team GB always turn up with a strong squad. Look out for two of Britain’s most successful Olympians, Laura and Jason Kenny, as the team go for gold in the Keirin, Madison, Omnium, Team Pursuit, Sprint and Team Sprint events. Who are you backing to stand on the podium this year? Find your pre-race and In-Play Olympic cycling betting markets at Ladbrokes.
Betting on Vuelta a Espana
After missing out on the Tour de France title in dramatic fashion this year and last, Primoz Roglic will be hoping to respond in the Vuelta a Espana. He’s won both of the last two editions of this race but will face stiff competition from the aggressive riding of Richard ‘The Locomotive’ Carapaz, who finished behind him by just 24 seconds in 2020.
Can the Ecuadorian overhaul Roglic this time out? Or will the Slovenian’s powerful line-up at Team Jumbo Visma help propel him to glory once more? We’ll also be keeping our eye on up-and-coming Frenchman David Guadu and Spaniard Mikel Landa riding in his home race. Whoever you’re backing this year, we’ve got a range of Grand Tour betting options and outright markets for you.
Betting on Tour de France
After another dominant ride, young Slovenian Tadej Pogacar once again crossed the Champs-Elysees wearing the yellow jersey to claim a successive Tour de France title. Early crashes and injuries dented the aspirations of several championship contenders, including 2018 and 2020 winners Thomas and Roglic, while points specialist Peter Sagan was also affected.
It was better news for the returning Mark Cavendish, one of the most successful riders of all time, who made an impressive Tour comeback to win the green jersey and match Eddy Merckx’s record of 34 stage wins. Who are you backing in 2022? Can Roglic reclaim the title, or will the star-studded Ineos Grenadiers team find another winner after a disappointing season? Have your say with our pre-match and In-Play Tour de France cycling betting markets.
Betting on Giro d’Italia
Young rider Bernal claimed victory in both the youth and overall classifications in 2021, but will he be able to recreate his success when the Giro d’Italia returns in May 2022? Sagan topped the points with his sprinting prowess, while Ineos Grenadiers will be hoping to translate their overall team success into individual wins.
Fancy betting on the outright winner or stage victors? You can also have your say on which rider will claim the most stages and who will wear each of the coloured jerseys. However you like to bet, get in the saddle with great cycling odds, a range of betting options and live action when you bet with Ladbrokes.
