Snooker has undergone a big revival in recent years following its heyday in the 1970s and 1980s and at Ladbrokes we are just loopy about this great sport.
The calendar starts in July and ends in June, but the climax of the season comes in April with the World Championship which takes place at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.
If you love snooker betting then Ladbrokes is the place to be because we have plenty of options for tournaments in the UK and around the world.
As you would expect we have snooker odds on all the major events so you can bet on your favourite player to win the likes of the World Championship, UK Championship and the invitational Masters (The Triple Crown) amongst many others.
Before a ball has been potted, we have the latest snooker outright odds on all the players to win a tournament and you can also back them each way which means you will get a pay-out if they reach the final, usually at half the odds.
But of course, we offer lots of markets on all the matches from the first round all the way through to the final which we will explain in more detail later.
However, that’s only the start of our snooker betting coverage because we update the odds on matches in real time.
Our in-play betting option means you can check out the live snooker odds which appear alongside the latest score once the action gets under way, but the advantages of having a Ladbrokes account do not end there.
That’s because you can watch some of the matches live to help you get a better feel of how the players are performing at one of the major tournaments.
Once you are inside the snooker section of the sports book, simply click on the In-Play link to see which match is being streamed or Today/Tomorrow to view which matches will be shown live that day.
While watching one of the chosen matches, you will also notice the snooker betting odds being constantly updated to put you in the frame.
You don’t need to be at the venue to enjoy this sport, so let’s look at some of the snooker odds we have available at Ladbrokes.
As well as snooker outright odds, you can also bet on matches either from the start or in-play as we have already explained.
One of the most popular markets in snooker betting is the match result in which you simply pick a player to win, but there are several other options.
As with most sports, you can bet on what the correct score will be and there are some interesting additional markets such as who will win the first frame.
You can also choose whether the opening frame will go under or over a set number of points or whether there will be a century break, while we also have handicap options in the snooker betting in which a player is given a head start over their rival.
Snooker odds are available on each player to score a break of 50 or more in the first frame and it’s always worth checking out our frequent price boosts on some of the matches in which we increase the prices on certain scenarios, such as a 4-0 victory for example.
Price boosts also appear in our Specials section where we offer increased odds on a few players to win in a treble.
Snooker World Championship odds
Although there are some great tournaments on the calendar, the pinnacle is undoubtedly the World Championship which was dominated by Steve Davis in the 80s, Stephen Hendry in the 90s and Ronnie O’Sullivan this century.
Thirty-two players compete in a knockout format over 17 days in which the number of frames generally increase over the course of the televised tournament.
The first round is the best-of-19 frames and the final best of 35, with the winner needing to get to the magic figure of 18 to win the title.
We have snooker World Championship odds on dozens of players months before the action gets under way and when the tournament starts we have lots of markets on every match, all of which are televised.
It’s a magical tournament steeped in history and Ladbrokes has all the snooker odds you need over the three weeks.
