Championship accumulator: Away day fourfold the way to go

Published:

With just one point separating the top three sides and at least seven clubs concerned with relegation at present the Championship continues to live up to it’s billing as a tough league to predict.

We think we’ve cracked it this weekend, however, with a solid-looking fourfold paying out at almost 40/1.

Don’t be put off by the huge odds though, after all backing leaders Bournemouth and third-placed Ipswich alongside a Blackburn side facing relegation-threatened Wigan and Brentford to gain revenge on Brighton doesn’t seem too farfetched.

Read on to find out why.

Ipswich to beat Millwall @ 6/5

The Tractor Boys may be disappointed after losing to Southampton in their FA Cup replay but opportunities to dust yourself off don’t come much bigger than Millwall at present.

The Lions have won just two of their last 20 league outings, losing their last four on the bounce while conceding 10 goals and scoring just one! Ipswich have won three of the last five meetings to nil and will walk this one.

Bournemouth to beat Rotherham @ 10/11

The Cherries’ 14-game unbeaten run came to an end last weekend and that means a backlash for the unfortunate hosts this weekend.

Rotherham were hammered 5-1 by a weakened Bournemouth side earlier this month and with Eddie Howe’s men winning six and drawing one of their last seven on the road a similar result could be on the cards.

Blackburn to beat Wigan @ 2/1

The Latics have lost nine of their last 11 games and while Rovers have won just once in six attempts it is the Ewood Park outfit that get the nod here.

Rovers were unbeaten in seven before their current slump and, having beaten the Millers 3-1 in their last meeting, will be confident of getting back in the groove.

Brentford to beat Brighton @ 9/4

This is one for the Gut Trusters out there, with Brighton winning their last three games and recently beating the Bees 2-0 in the FA Cup.

The Griffin Park outfit can now concentrate on the league, however, where they have won eight of their last 11 ties, and with 15 places separating these sides in the Championship, backing Brentford is the advice.
