Stamford Bridge, Chelsea v Bayern Munich

Ladbrokes presents its Chelsea v Newcastle predictions and betting tips ahead of the big match in the Premier League this evening.

In the final match of the latest Premier League game week, Newcastle travel to London to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, with both sides hoping to go into the FA Cup quarter-finals this weekend with another domestic league win under their belts.

It’s been a somewhat disappointing season for both clubs in the league, with both managers being discussed as potentially losing their jobs this year. Newcastle find themselves in 10th place, with 40 points after 27 games. Chelsea have 36 points after 26 games, so a win over Newcastle tonight would allow the Blues to leapfrog the Geordies if they win their game in hand, which will see them face Tottenham.

With the big game now just hours away, join Ladbrokes as we run through our Chelsea v Newcastle predictions and betting tips.

Chelsea v Newcastle predictions and betting tips

Both teams to score – 4/9

We kick things off with a rather simple bet, where we’re predicting both Chelsea and Newcastle to score at Stamford Bridge this evening. Both sides have scored in their last five games, and neither are particularly tight at the back, so expect goals in this one.

Newcastle thumped Chelsea 4-1 at St James Park in the Premier League in November, whilst Chelsea edged out Newcastle on penalties in the Carabao Cup last year the last time the two teams met, with the score being 1-1 after 120 minutes.

In fact, both teams scored in both of the fixtures between Chelsea and Newcastle last season, and it’s happened in their two games since the 2023/24 season kicked off in August too, so BTTS seems like a safe bet here.

Chelsea & Newcastle to draw – 29/10

Chelsea and Newcastle seem quite evenly matched at the moment, and if we forget the Blues’ 4-1 defeat to Eddie Howe’s side in November 2023, the last three games between the sides have ended in a 1-1 draw.

As such, we’re predicting a draw once again here, with odds of 29/10. Neither team are in the best shape right now, and with not all that much to play for in the league, both sides might have an eye on the FA Cup this weekend, meaning a draw could well be on the cards.

Cole Palmer to score & have an assist – 17/2

Considering the money they spent last summer, Chelsea fans will have expected much more from their big-money signings, but one man who can have his head held high after moving to Stamford Bridge in 2023 is Cole Palmer.

The former Man City man has shown why he was so highly rated during his time at the reigning Premier League champions, whoa are favourites to retain their crown this year, popping up with 10 goals and seven assists in 23 league games for Chelsea.

We’re predicting the Chelsea forward to be involved heavily tonight too, with a slight longshot bet here of Palmer to score and provide an assist, with odds of 17/2.

Alexander Isak to score the first goal – 6/1

We finish things off with a bet featuring another highly-rated player who’ll be starring for his side tonight, with Alexander Isak to score being our final betting tip for Chelsea v Newcastle.

The Swedish striker 15 goals in 28 games in all competitions for Newcastle this season in what is his second campaign since joining from Real Sociedad in 2022.

Isak is set to lead the line tonight, with Callum Wilson out injured, and we’re pegging him to score the first goal as Newcastle take the lead.
