Slovakia v Spain betting tips: Pressure on La Roja to deliver victory

Group E is set for a thrilling climax with all four nations still in the running to qualify for the knockout stage but third-placed Spain must beat Slovakia on Wednesday to guarantee a place in the top two.
Spain drew their first two matches against Sweden and Poland and, with Slovakia in second spot with three points, there is all to play for in Seville.
Luis Enrique’s men are just 2/9 to get the win that would fire them into the last 16, so let’s look at some of the other markets in our Slovakia v Spain betting tips.
Match Odds
Slovakia have already exceeded expectations having secured a place at Euro 2020 via the play-offs and with one game to go a draw would be enough to secure a spot in the knockout phase if Poland fail to beat Sweden.
The Slovaks will have been encouraged by the performances of Swede and Poland in drawing against Spain and they are 5/1 to get a point, 14/1 to win and 16/5 in the double chance market.
Spain are clearly struggling in front of goal having had 85% possession in a goalless draw against the Swedes, so 20/23 on a win and under 3.5 goals looks an interesting option.
La Roja have won four and drawn one of their six matches against Slovakia since their first encounter in 1996 and conceded in three of those victories.
The 2008 and 2012 champions are 23/10 to win and both teams to score against a Slovakian side that beat Poland 2-1 in their opening Group E game before losing 1-0 to Sweden.
Despite a disappointing group stage, Spain will be fully aware Portugal won Euro 2016 having drawn all three pool games and at 9/1 they are not out of the tournament.
Talking Tactics
Spain have scored just once at Euro 2020 but Luis Enrique is likely to stick with a 4-3-3 formation in which Alvaro Morata and Gerard Moreno are almost certain to be in the front three accompanied by either Dani Olmo or Ferran Torres.
Moreno hit the post from the penalty spot in the 1-1 draw with Poland but the Villarreal striker supplied the cross for Morata to score the opening goal which was originally ruled out for offside but overturned by VAR.
Sergio Busquets did not make the 23-man squad against Poland having tested positive for Covid-19 earlier in the month but he has since returned a negative result, so he could get the chance to shine, along with Thiago Alcantara.
Goalscorer Odds
Morata’s smart finish against the Poles means he is 13/5 to get the game’s opener and 11/10 to score at any time while Moreno is 16/5 and 13/10 in the same markets.
Olmo and Torres are 15/8 and 8/5 to get on the scoresheet but at bigger odds Jordi Alba is priced at 7/1 to find the net, just as he did in the last meeting between the teams – a 2-0 win for Spain in a Euro 2016 qualifier.
Slovakia were unambitious against Sweden and are hardly prolific in front of goal, with Ondrej Duda the lowest-priced player at 11/2 to breach Spain’s defence and 14/1 to break the deadlock.
