West Ham v Liverpool betting tips and odds

Saturday’s Manchester derby is the focal point for this week’s Premier League action but there is a mouthwatering match taking place in east London where West Ham and Liverpool meet in a top-four clash.

The Reds are unbeaten in all competitions this season and booked their place in the last 16 of the Champions League with a 2-0 victory over Atletico Madrid on Wednesday, while West Ham drew 2-2 with Genk to remain on course for the knockout stage of the Europa League.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are 7/10 favourites to win at the London Stadium as we look at some of the other options in our West Ham v Liverpool betting tips.

Match Odds

Second-placed Liverpool stretched their unbeaten run to 25 games in all competitions during the week and their away record this season has been exceptional.

The Merseysiders have scored at least three goals in all of their Premier League and Champions League games on the road and are 33/20 to bag another treble just as they did here last season or they are 5/4 to win and over 2.5 match goals.

Four of their five away wins have come without conceding, so we make the visitors 13/5 to win to nil, while a win for the Reds and both teams to score, which occurred in both games last season, is 9/5 in our West Ham v Liverpool betting tips.

West Ham will be no pushovers, though, and David Moyes has certainly found a winning formula having steered the Hammers to successive wins against Everton, Tottenham and Aston Villa to move into the Champions League spots.

The Hammers are 3/1 to draw as they did against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup, while a first Premier League win against Liverpool in more than five years is 17/5.

Both teams to score, over 2.5 goals in the match and either team to win is available at 11/10 and Draw HT/Liverpool FT, which would have paid out in the last three meetings, is 18/5.

Talking Tactics

Moyes went with a strong side for the trip to Belgium and had his first-choice midfield and attack on the pitch on the hour mark in a bid to seal the win which would have put them into the knockout stage, only for Tomas Soucek to score an own goal to ensure the match ended in a 2-2 draw.

The Hammers will line up in the usual 4-2-3-1 formation with Michail Antonio up top, supported by Said Benrahma, Jarrod Bowen and Pablo Fornals, with Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna returning to the heart of defence.

Klopp will go with his favoured 4-3-3, but Roberto Firmino sustained a hamstring injury against Atletico, so Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota are likely to start in attack, with midfielders Fabinho and Thiago both available again having got minutes under their belts against Atletico.

Goalscorer Odds

Salah has opened the scoring in three of his six appearances against West Ham and is 14/5 to repeat the trick or 5/6 to find the net as he has done 10 times this season.

Jota and Mane are 9/2 and 5/1 respectively to break the deadlock or 6/4 and 13/8 to score in our West Ham v Liverpool betting tips.

Antonio is the 6/1 favourite from the Hammers contingent to draw first blood and is 21/10 in the anytime market, but Fornals has a good record of scoring against the Reds and is 16/1 and 5/1 in the two options.

Benrahma bagged a double against Genk on Thursday and is 11/1 to net the opening goal or 7/2 to get on the scoresheet.
