A Ladbrokes punter turned a tenner into a whopping £6.7k this weekend, thanks to FOUR dramatic turnarounds and TWO injury-time goals.
The customer struck the ambitious acca 10 minutes into the 5:30pm kick-offs around Europe, meaning Brentford (2/1) and Leverkusen (18/5) were already a goal behind, and while the Bees turned things around at home with time to spare, it took the latter 91 MINUTES (coming from behind TWICE in the game) to secure the win, courtesy of Piero Hincapie.
Elsewhere, while comfortable wins for Porto, Celta Vigo and Espanyol kept the eight-fold going strong, attention turned to the French Cup, where Brest had to rely on an 88th minute winner to come from behind to beat fourth-tier outfit, Trelissac.
The drama didn’t end there, though, and with AC Milan 2-1 down in their 7:45pm game against Udinese, with seven minutes on the clock, the Ladbrokes customer needed nothing short of a miracle, which came via a Luka Jovic equaliser in the 83rd minute, before Noah Okafor got on the end of a 93rd minute corner, ensuring the £10 acca landed, to the tune of a staggering £6,683.76.
Perhaps the most impressive pick of the acca, though, was for bottom of the Belgian Pro League side, Kortrijk, to score the opening goal of the game away at Standard Liege at 9/5. Winless in their last nine, and having scored just three goals in that period, Kortrijk upset the odds in the 45th minute of the game and managed to hold on for a 1-0 win.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Our plucky punter took our traders on a trip around Europe on Saturday night, flexing their impressive footy knowledge in the process, having correctly predicted outcomes from games across no less than seven countries.”
He added: “And a European tour may well be on the cards with their winnings, but the first thing on their shopping list surely has to be a Noah Okafor shirt, as his last-gasp winner for Milan ensured the punchy eight-fold was a winner!”
